Salary Expectation: $71,589 to $80,537 annual salary (Note: The salary will commensurate based on education and occupational experience.)

LOCATION: Lakeshore Technical College - Cleveland, Wisconsin

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Dean of General Studies, Business, Technology, and Hospitality, the Associate Dean provides leadership and assists in managing operations and instructional programming in the division, specifically focusing on programs relating to college education programs and Adult Education. Advocates for education accessibility, quality instruction, and inspires a student-first culture. Leads an environment in which integrity and ethics are the norm. Collaborate with the Division Dean, faculty, staff, and departments across the college, at the Sheboygan and Manitowoc center sites, and county jails to provide the resources, information, autonomy, and support needed to achieve results. Advance the image of the division and programs inside and outside of the College. Support and champion college initiatives, policies, and procedures. Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.

(40%) People Leadership
  • Manage, and coach a diverse faculty/staff talent pool capable of achieving results.
  • Trust the judgment of others, delegating and giving latitude to exercise authority in their own areas of expertise.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication fostering open and respectful interaction.
  • Motivate faculty to incorporate contemporary adult learning theory into practice.
  • Maintain customer focus by tailoring message and style effectively communicating to internal and external customers.
  • Guide Advisory Committees and foster engagement.
  • Address staff and student issues in an effective and timely manner.

(25%) Resource Leadership
  • Maintain state of industry-relevant labs and classrooms.
  • Analyze reports to effectively assign workload; manages personnel and non-personnel current expense, and capital budgets,
  • Utilize a problem-solving and decision-making process which incorporates data, experience, and faculty and staff appropriately.
  • Manage open and transparent division-level financial processes and communication.
  • Seek resources from internal and external resources (e.g., Grants, donations) to meet division needs.
  • Grant managing and reporting.
  • Assists with developing plan(s) and budget for department.

(15%) Strategic Division Leadership
  • Engage faculty, staff, and stakeholders to create strategic division plans that align to the Academic Master, College Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan.
  • Create a culture in which breakthrough ideas are generated to create and improve programming, curriculum, and delivery and student success.
  • Measure division performance using quality and key performance indicators, monitors, reports and other available data.
  • Ensure that student learning is assessed, improved and effective through program review and continuous improvement processes (e.g., QRP, folder, academic maps, etc.)
  • Design student-focused schedules that optimize workload and classroom efficiencies within the education and adult education programs.
  • Ensure program compliance with the Wisconsin Technical College System Board's and program accreditation standards.
  • Balance the achievement of day-to-day results with accomplishments of key college initiatives.

(15%) Personal Leadership
  • Convey credibility through academic and leadership expertise.
  • Respect all individuals and treats them fairly; honors commitments to others; models high ethical standards and integrity.
  • Demonstrate the courage to do what is right despite personal risk or discomfort.
  • Has realistic understanding of own strengths and development needs; commit time to continuous learning.

(5%) MANAGER ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervision is provided to the General Studies, Education and Adult Education programs.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these staff.
  • Responsibilities include design position responsibilities, interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; supervise, mentor, and develop staff through the Employee Performance review; reward and discipline employees.
  • Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws to include:
    o Develop plan(s) and budget for department.
    o Address staff and student issues in an effective and timely manner.
    o Be an active advocate for LTC in the community.
    o Be active in the college by serving on committees.
    o Teach classes, as requested, based on course-identified qualifications.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related discipline is required.
    • Master's degree in a related discipline preferred.
    • Three to five years of relevant occupational experience required, and a minimum of two years relevant higher education experience preferred.

    Note: If educational/certification requirements are not met, candidates may be considered, however the expectation would be that they be met within 5 years of employment.

    TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:

    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
    • Ability to navigate through Windows; access college network system; understand database concepts; and download and manage various applications and files.
    • Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and be able to support any software or hardware that is used by the College.
