California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the Collins College of Hospitality Management.

Cal Poly Pomona (www.cpp.edu) is one of three polytechnic universities in the 23-campus California State University system and among 12 such institutions nationwide. The university is noted for its scenic and historic 1,400-acre campus. Nearly 28,000 students are taught and mentored by the campus's more than 1,400 faculty. Cal Poly Pomona acknowledges that it resides on the territorial and homelands of the Tongva and Tataavium people who are the traditional land caretakers of Tovaangar.

The Collins College of Hospitality Management is one of the nation's leading programs in hospitality management. It is housed in 55,000-square-feet of state-of-the-art buildings which incorporate laboratory, research, classroom, and administrative facilities designed for its programs and include a public, student-operated full-service restaurant as a laboratory. A faculty of about 30 provide masters and bachelor's degrees to over 1,000 students from 25 countries. The college has successful alliances with industry that enable it to implement the latest innovations. The polytechnic nature of the university with its emphasis on laboratory/hands-on learning is particularly advantageous. Students are required to complete 800 hours of work experience in hospitality-related employment prior to graduation. The Dean reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, serves as a member of the Academic Deans' Council, and works closely with other academic deans and directors, as well as various Academic Affairs and Student Affairs personnel.

Among the desired qualifications are a record of teaching and scholarship appropriate for a tenured faculty appointment in the Collins College of Hospitality Management or evidence of progressive responsibility in a corporate environment, the ability to leverage established relationships with the hospitality industry and use them to strengthen the college's position, and a demonstrated record of successful activities to foster diversity, equity, and an inclusive environment for students, faculty members, and staff members.
